Kale’s Favorite Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies

Happy October and Happy National Homemade Cookie day (yesterday) Friends!

I’m so excited to share one of my husbands favorite cookie recipes. I adapted this recipe from one of my favorite foodies Molly from What Molly Made. Because Kale, Blakely and myself have gluten and dairy allergies I have changed her recipe to fit our eating style. Changing recipes to GF/ dairy free is something I have become a pro at and if you have allergies I’m sure you are a pro too!

I wouldn’t call this recipe ” healthy “. But hey, it’s chocolate chip cookies so the calories don’t count. Right?

The reason my husband loves these cookies (thanks Molly) is because they are truly soft-baked cookies! The secret ingredient (PUDDING) is something I have come to love in baked goods ( I will post my Pumpkin+Pudding Bread recipe next). As a military wife I’ve sent many packages over seas, and I’ve found that by adding pudding to my goodies they stay moist and delicious for my husband to enjoy 1-2 weeks after baked (YES I said 2 weeks… when deployed those guys will eat anything).

Making these cookies gluten free and dairy free is super easy, it doesn’t have to be complicated. All you need are these three ingredients. CUP4CUP Flour, Enjoy Life semi sweet chips (Kale loves mega chunk), Earth Balance Vegan Buttery Sticks

Below is the original recipe from What Molly Made, if you don’t have any food allergies I would love to hear what you think of her recipe in the comment section!

Happy National Coffee Day

In honor of national coffee day today, Blakely and I went to our favorite coffee shop in Northpark. Communal coffee is a super fun and trendy coffee shop, that has definitely become a hot spot for social media addicts to visit while in San Diego. I mean who wouldn’t want a picture on next to their amazing Coffee + Flowers wall! Why Coffee +Flowers, well communal coffee is a joint store with the Native Poppy flower shop! So the store is filled with the aroma of coffee and flowers, it doesn’t get much better than that! While the ambience is amazing the menu is out of this world. Lavender honey latte, vanilla bean latte, and rose vanilla latte the list goes on and on.

Before you leave make sure to make a pit stop next door to North Park Nursery (Miss Blakely’s favorite spot) . North Park Nursery is a locally owned nursery and garden center, which is filled with incredible succulents, garden supplies, gifts! unnamed-5.jpgunnamed-6.jpg

Everything You Need To Know About Laser Hair Removal

unnamed.jpgIf your like me you’ve been considering laser hair removal for years, it wasn’t until I was 30 that I finally said enough is enough I need to laser my legs. For most people the “pain” that comes with getting it done, and the price tag scares them off. But for me it has been a life changer! If you have hair that grows thick and fast, and are constantly getting razor burn or ingrown hairs, you need to try laser hair removal. I get my laser done with Juliana in Scottsdale, Arizona at Bellina Med Spa. If you are in Arizona I highly suggest the girls from Bellina Med Spa, when it comes to the world of beauty they are in the know. During my last laser treatment I had a Q&A with Juliana and ask her everything a women should know before getting her first treatment.

WHAT IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Laser hair removal targets hair follicles that are about to enter the (active) phase of hair growth, with the goal of destroying the follicle itself which will end hair growth to a specific area. The goal is to hit the different growth cycles of your hair, because not every follicle goes through each cycle at the same time and speed. Which leads us into the next question…

HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED

On average most people need 10-12 sessions. The length between sessions will depend on the body part your lasering. Facial hair sessions are spread to every 2-3 weeks, and then body hair like legs is every 6-8 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO COMPLETE TREATMENT

Because the goal is to hit the different growth cycles of your hair. You’re looking at a few months to complete treatment. It is important to remember that with each session your hair is going to become less dense and more fine. With each session you will notice that shaving becomes much easier with less razor burn and ingrown hairs. YAY!

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY TREATMENTS

It is important to prepare your skin prior to each treatment. Make sure to shave prior to your treatment, and it helps not to be super tan prior to your session (so NO spray tan a few days prior).

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST

The price is going to vary based on the size of the treatment area, as well the med spa you choose to go tot (that is why I suggest Bellina Med Spa ). Most places will have a package deal of 5-6 treatments for X amount and then a smaller fee for yearly touch ups. But before you spend the money make sure that you are a good candidate for laser hair removal. If you have blond, gray or red hair ALL laser hair removal treatments WILL NOT respond the way you want because the laser targets melanin, the pigment in the hair follicle ( Just a friendly reminder! )

3 BABYGANICS Products You Should Be Using

A clean house is a must for our family. I do my best to always use baby-safe products, when I’m cleaning I never want to question could this be safe for Blakely. When Blakely was born I didn’t know what products to use, there are just so many out there! But I was won over by Babyganics because their products are formulated with plant-based, natural and certified organic ingredients. Recently, Babyganics sent me some their fabulous products to try, some of these I already use daily and others were new to me. So today I’m excited to share 3 of my favorite Babyganics products. Using these products give me peace of mind that I am using good and gentle cleaning products in our house.

Product 1: Babyganics Mineral Based Baby Sunscreen Lotion

This has been my go to sunscreen since Blakely was born. I love it because the ingredients are way more natural than other sunscreens, it’s non-allergenic and tear free. When you have a one year old who won’t sit still while putting on sunscreen an effortless application is a MUST! So I love how Babyganics applies, it rubs in the skin right away, has no strange sunscreen smell!

Product 2: Babyganics Face and Hand Wipes

The day these Babyganics goodies arrived at our door, Blakely had come down with her second cold ever. There were a lot of boogers and sneezes happening at our house, the face and hand wipes came in so handy that week. They are super gentle wipes, Blakely did not have any redness around her nose the entire cold. These wipes are very hydrating and they are unscented (unlike some other boogie wipes out there)!unnamed.jpg

Product 3: Babyganics Foaming Dish & Bottle Soap

It’s crazy how fast bottles add up in the sink. Every mom knows the faster the bottles can get cleaned and rinsed the better! Foam soap is great because there is alway less rinsing aka less water used, this soap takes off the residue and 100% gets rid of the stinky smell of formula.

If you love Babyganics products too… DON’T FORGET to enter our giveaway over on Instagram. You have until midnight Thursday, September 21st to enter, the winner will be announced on Friday.
